Thanks Dan Froomkin! Bouie's observation that Trump "inspires ferocious energy and opposition against him among a large part of the voting public” fits with social movement growth theory. A main engine for engagement is increasingly egregious actions from the autocratic regime. Which is, of course, what we've seen playing out since day 1 of Trump's second term. There's some lag time for the people to respond... but sure enough the opposition is steadily building.
