What I think is missing from your short list is (1) a package of legislation to rein in Presidential power. Every Presidential administration since FDR -- with only a short-lived and partial post-Watergate exception under Ford and Carter -- has sought to expand the power of the Presidency at the expense of Congress and the Courts. No Congress has wanted to reduce the power of a President of the same party. Now we are seeing the consequences. Many of Trump's Executive Orders have been based on powers granted by Congress, which Congress could and should repeal. Repeal the Alien Enemies Act. Repeal or drastically reduce other powers that currently can be triggered by a Presidential declaration of a state of emergency. Amend the War Powers Act to require a declaration of war.

Also missing from your list is (2) legislation to create a Federal private right of action for any violation of US obligations pursuant to human rights treaties, to get rid of the disregard for human rights enabled by the judicial theory that these treaties are non-self-executing.

One of the things Dem governors can do now is direct their AGs to search for malfeasance in their jurisdictions among the many crooks and liars working for the regime, and arrest them where appropriate and possible.

Trump is insane. He's completely bonkers. Cutting off the head of the snake would be helpful, of course, but that's not the only possible course of action. He wouldn't be able to do what he does without a staff of sycophants. Most of them have commited crimes elsewhere. I guarantee it.

One problem is that his Chief of Staff, Susan Wiles, who I feel like is the master of ceremonies in that regime, was based in Florida when she helped turn Florida into a failed state. DeSantis isn't going to touch her. But what about the counties where she was based? I realize local district attorney offices are strapped for cash, so it would probably require a hungry young DA taking some personal time to devote to looking for violations of the law.

We know that most, if not all, of his "helpers" are crooks. Dig around a bit. Find out what they've done, and pull them in for indictments. There's nothing he can do about that.

Lynne, let's add, those with whom we are lime minded on democratic values AND who commit to alerting us when the US is two faced, saying one thing, acting unhelpfully 🙂
